Incarnate Word continues its winning streak after claiming the Visitation Tournament title last week as they remain the top team in the High School Sports Caravan Girls’ Basketball Top 10 rankings as we begin 2023. There was plenty of movement in the rankings with Alton making the biggest jump, landing in the third slot this week.

 

  1. Incarnate Word (9-0)
    • The Red Knights ran its current winning streak to 77 games after winning the Viz Tournament last week and will host Lee’s Summit West and Park Hill South this coming weekend.
  2. John Burroughs (11-2)
    • The Bombers fell to IWA in the Viz final but rebounded to defeat McCluer North to open their tournament. JBS will take on Orchard Farm Wednesday in the semifinals.
  3. Alton (15-0)
    • The Redbirds won the Mascoutah Tourney last week after defeating O’Fallon 52-51 in the final and will take on Belleville West Tuesday night.
  4. O’Fallon (14-3)
    • The Panthers saw their seven-game winning streak come to an end in a loss to Alton and will travel to Belleville East Tuesday night in SWC action.
  5. Vashon (8-2)
    • The Wolverines have won six of their last seven and will play Park Hill South and Lee’s Summit West this weekend.
  6. Pattonville (6-1)
    • The Pirates earned third place at the Viz tournament with a 51-48 win over Eureka and will travel to Parkway West next Thursday.
  7. Eureka (8-5)
    • The Wildcats claimed fourth place in the Viz tourney after falling to John Burroughs and Pattonville last week and will play Lindbergh Friday evening.
  8. Fort Zumwalt West (7-3)
    • The Jaguars have won five straight games including three wins to claim the MICDS tournament and will open play in the Lutheran South Tournament against Washington Tuesday.
  9. Althoff (12-3)
    • The Crusaders have won six of their last seven games and will host Mater Dei Wednesday evening.
  10. Marquette (8-4)
    • The Mustangs saw their four-game winning streak snapped in a loss to Fort Zumwalt West in the final of the MICDS tourney and will head to Clayton to take on the Greyhounds Wednesday.
