Top 10 HS Baseball Poll – April 5, 2022

With baseball season in full swing and teams starting to get more games in, it is time to start our HSSC/Scoops with Danny Mac Top 10 rankings for the area teams. CBC will start on top of the rankings with Edwardsville slotted in right behind. There are a lot of good baseball teams in the area, so don’t be surprised that this list may look very different after the state championships in June.

  1. CBC (7-1)
    • Dropped their first game of the year over the weekend to Jackson 1-0 but bounced back to defeat the Indians the next day. The Cadets play Chaminade in a pair of MCC games this week.
  1. Edwardsville (9-0)
    • The Tigers defeated Columbia this past Friday and will take on Granite City Tuesday afternoon.
  1. Breese Central (11-0)
    • The Cougars scored 29 runs in a pair of wins over the weekend and will play Columbia Tuesday afternoon.
  1. Fort Zumwalt West (11-2)
    • The Jaguars won the Midwest Baseball Classic with a 15-5 victory over Blue Springs South and will play Holt in a pair of GAC matchups this week.
  1. Timberland (7-1)
    • The Wolves take on Troy this week in home and home conference games.
  1. St. Pius X (Festus) (7-3)
    • The Lancers won the Fredericktown Wood Bat Tourney this past weekend and will play Park Hills Central Wednesday.
  1. Belleville East (8-1)
    • The Lancers are on a seven-game winning streak and will take on Salem in a doubleheader Wednesday afternoon.
  1. Seckman (7-1)
    • The Jaguars have scored 36 runs in their last two wins and will host Cape Central Wednesday afternoon.
  1. Columbia (5-2)
    • The Eagles split a doubleheader with Waterloo over the weekend and will take on Breese Central Wednesday afternoon.
  1. Festus (6-4)
    • The Tigers will look to bounce back after losing to the Patriots with a big JCAA contest against Jefferson R-7 Wednesday afternoon.
