Westminster continued to show why they are the top team in the metro area while Eureka earned a statement win over Webster Groves in girls’ action last week.

Here is this week’s HSSC/Scoops with Danny Mac High School Basketball Top 10 lists.

BOY’S TOP 10

  1. Westminster (24-1)
    • The Wildcats gave Vashon their first loss to a team from the state of Missouri in a 39-35 win Saturday and will finish the regular season Friday against MICDS.
  1. CBC (20-6)
    • The Cadets claimed the MCC title with a 67-61 victory over Chaminade and finished their regular season with a win at Father Tolton.
  1. East St. Louis (23-5)
    • The Flyers earned the Southwestern Conference title with a 63-61 win over Belleville East and will open state tournament play Wednesday night against Triad.
  1. Vashon (19-4)
    • The Wolverines fell Westminster Saturday evening and will look to bounce back with games against DeSmet and Webster Groves this week.
  1. MICDS (22-3)
    • The Rams are currently on a 12-game winning streak and will finish the regular season against Westminster Thursday night.
  1. DeSmet (18-7)
    • The Spartans earned three wins last week including a 77-61 win over Chaminade and will take on Vashon Tuesday night.
  1. Parkway West (22-2)
    • The Longhorns have won six straight games and will take on Summit Tuesday night.
  1. Chaminade (18-7)
    • The Red Devils dropped a pair of MCC games last week before bouncing back with a 77-63 win over Miller Career Saturday and will finish the regular season Friday against Vianney.
  1. Cardinal Ritter (16-9)
    • The Lions finished the regular season with a 71-59 win over Borgia and will start district play on Saturday.
  1. Fort Zumwalt South (23-2)
    • The Bulldogs are on a 10-game winning streak after a pair of wins last week and will wrap up the regular season Thursday night against St. Charles.

 

GIRL’S TOP 10

  1. Incarnate Word (22-0)
    • The Red Knights ran its winning streak to 61 games with a win over Nerinx Hall and will finish the regular season Tuesday night against Troy.
  1. Edwardsville (27-4)
    • The Tigers opened state tournament play with a pair of wins last week and will take on O’Fallon Tuesday night in another playoff game.
  1. Whitfield (18-3)
    • The Warriors have won 10 straight including a 46-35 win over Westminster and will finish the regular season Tuesday against Cape Notre Dame.
  1. Civic Memorial (29-4)
    • The Eagles earned a pair of wins in the state tournament and will play Mt. Vernon Tuesday night in another state game.
  1. Eureka (19-6)
    • The Wildcats have won six straight games including a 63-60 victory at Webster Groves Friday evening and will wrap up the regular season Wednesday night against Troy.
  1. Webster Groves (19-5)
    • The Statesmen won four straight games before losing to Eureka Friday night and will take on Lutheran St. Charles Wednesday night.
  1. John Burroughs (15-4)
    • The Bombers claimed the Metro League title with a 55-31 win over Principia and will finish the regular season against Metro Tuesday night.
  1. O’Fallon (23-5)
    • The Panthers won a pair of state playoff games last week and will meet Edwardsville Tuesday night for a chance to advance in the state tournament.
  1. MICDS (17-6)
    • The Rams rejoin the top 10 after a pair of wins last week including a 55-49 victory over St. Charles West and will take on Gateway Legacy Tuesday night.
  1. St. Charles West (17-3)
    • The Warriors saw their six-game winning streak come to an end in the loss to MICDS and they will finish the regular season Wednesday night against Pattonville.
