As we turn the page into March, district action is in full swing around the area. Westminster and Incarnate Word remain on top of this week’s Top 10 rankings while on the girls’ list, Civic Memorial moves up a spot after earning a place in the IHSA Final Four.

Here is this week’s HSSC/Scoops with Danny Mac High School Basketball Top 10 lists.

BOY’S TOP 10

  1. Westminster (25-1)
  • The Wildcats opened district play with a win over Gateway and will play Ladue in the semifinals Wednesday evening.
  1. CBC (21-6)
  • The Cadets started district action with a win over Waynesville and will play Lafayette in the semifinals Wednesday night.
  1. East St. Louis (25-5)
  • The Flyers won the regional title Friday night with a win over Highland and will move on to play Marion in the sectionals Wednesday night.
  1. Vashon (21-4)
  • The Wolverines open district play Tuesday night against Jennings.
  1. MICDS (22-3)
  • The Rams start district play Wednesday night against Priory.
  1. DeSmet (19-8)
  • The Spartans opened district action with a win over Clayton and will take on Cardinal Ritter in the district semifinal Wednesday night.
  1. Parkway West (24-2)
  • The Longhorns started district action with a win over Parkway South and will take on Eureka in the semifinals Wednesday.
  1. Chaminade (20-7)
  • The Red Devils opened district play with a win over Howell Central and will take on Hazelwood Central Thursday night.
  1. Cardinal Ritter (17-9)
  • The Lions defeated Parkway North to start district play and will take on DeSmet Wednesday night in the semifinals.
  1. Fort Zumwalt South (24-2)
  • The Bulldogs start district action Thursday night against Fort Zumwalt North.

 

 

GIRL’S TOP 10

 

  1. Incarnate Word (24-0)
  • The Red Knights ran its winning streak to 63 games with a district win over Ritenour and will take on Howell in the semifinals Tuesday night.
  1. Whitfield (20-3)
  • The Warriors won their district opening-round game against Gateway and will take on Clayton Tuesday night.
  1. Civic Memorial (32-4)
  • The Eagles defeated Mohomet to advance to the IHSA 3A Final Four and will play Mundelein Friday at 10 a.m.
  1. Edwardsville (29-5)
  • The Tigers finished their season with a 56-53 loss to Bolingbrook Monday night in the IHSA 4A Super-Sectional.
  1. Eureka (19-6)
  • The Wildcats start district action Tuesday with a match-up against Waynesville.
  1. Webster Groves (21-5)
  • The Statesmen open district play against Nerinx Hall Tuesday night.
  1. John Burroughs (17-4)
  • The Bombers opened district play with a win over St. Charles and will play STEAM Academy Tuesday evening.
  1. MICDS (19-6)
  • The Rams won their district opener against Ladue and will take on Lutheran St. Charles Tuesday night in the semifinals.
  1. St. Charles West (19-4)
  • The Warriors start district play against Wright City Tuesday night.
  1. Cardinal Ritter (19-5)
  • The Lions join the Top 10 with a pair of wins to start district action and will play Vashon in the District final Thursday night at Soldan
