THE REDBIRD REVIEW The Cardinals are in a good place right now. They’ll have to stay there instead of going backward, but that isn’t the focus of this column. Today I’m putting my attention on how the Cardinals rallied to become relevant and...
WEEKEND AT BERNIE’S Injuries are never a good thing for a team, but there can be benefits. When someone goes on the Injured List, his absence creates an opportunity for another player. And that can pay off. Which brings us to Alec Burleson. Since outfielder Lars...
I think we all pretty much agree that the 37-37 Cardinals are part of a mediocre pack of teams in the National League. As of Friday morning, only four NL clubs have winning records. The next team on the list is St. Louis with the fifth-best winning percentage in the...
THE REDBIRD REVIEW It gives me no pleasure to write this, but Lance Lynn has become a liability for the Cardinals. His 2024 season has turned negative. There’s no way to get around this, even if I wanted to finesse the numbers to make everything look nicer. I just go...

THE REDBIRD REVIEW The Cardinals lost a game they should have won on Monday night in Houston. But an all-around disintegration ruined the Redbirds’ promising early performance, and the Astros rebounded to take over late for a 7-4 victory at Minute Maid Park. You can’t...
THE REDBIRD REVIEW Not that he’ll receive much credit from the hostile precincts of the fan base, but I have no issues with the way manager Oli Marmol is running the Cardinals in 2024. I wasn’t a fan of his work in 2023 and repeatedly expressed that, but I...
